Recycling of Plastic Waste

Recycling of Plastic Waste

Recycling and sustainability are two phenomena that we frequently hear. Glass, paper, aluminum, plastics, batteries, motor oil, storage batteries, concrete, organic waste, electronic waste, iron, textile, wood, metal, and solvent based waste can be considered among recyclable materials. Such materials are recycled more and more every day to cover raw material needs and promise a sustainable production sensitive to the environment and living beings.

Consumption habits and shopping tendencies increasingly change in the modern world. Now countries adopt use, recycle, and reuse understanding. Thus, consumers prefer environment-sensitive and recycled products. Companies direct the materials they use to recycled, environment-friendly products that are not different than the originals. In this way, the contribution to the economy and sustainable environment continue to increase. One of the sub-headings of recycling that increasingly have a broader coverage with the effect of changing technology and level of consciousness is recycling of plastic waste.

Recycling of Plastic Waste

The fact that plastics remain in the nature for a long time, being one of the serious dangers in environmental pollution and the increasing consumption of plastics in the world call for thinking about recycling of these materials and looking for solutions.
Of course, it is not possible to completely remove plastic from our lives.

But the more we generalize using plastics by recycling, the better it will be for the future. Because plastic, when thrown away, does not rot, does not rust, does not dissolve and does not deteriorate. In addition to polluting water and soil, it accumulates in nature for years, harming aquatic creatures and even causing death. Thus, such plastics that accumulate in the nature must be removed. Plastics and other recyclable waste such as plastics can go through various physical and chemical procedures to transform to a new raw material or product. Introduction of such waste into the production process as a second raw material after undergoing some processes is defined as plastic recycling.

This material that is in every area of our lives, making it quite easy must go through some processes to be recycled. These processes are Cutting and Breaking of Plastics, Washing and Drying of Plastics, and Transfer of Plastics to the Feeding Boiler.
The fact that generalizing of recycling contributes to the country’s economy when it is managed correctly was a proven result of studies.

Recycling contributes to energy saving, the economy, and investment for the future while some of the products obtained from the recycling of plastic are as follows: Greenhouse Cover, Plastic Bag in the Automotive Sector, Marley, Sewage Pipe, Fiber and Filling Material, Spare Car Parts Production, Detergent Bottles, Trash Cans and Similar Products, Rain Water and Waste Water Pipes, Various Plastic Filling Materials, Various Plastic Toys, and Stationery.

When all this is considered, it is significant for our world to conduct individual and social activities to raise awareness on recycling and reuse of waste in addition to contributing to sustainability without ignoring the facilitating contribution of plastics to every area of life.
