Transformative Change in the Textile And Leather Industries
Sustainable Chemistry for the Textile Industry (SCTI™) and Together for Sustainability (TfS) have formed a collaboration to drive transformative change in the textile and leather industries, focusing on sustainable chemistry. Their partnership aims to promote convergence in standards and methodologies while inspiring industry-wide action for a more sustainable future.
SCTI is an alliance of leading chemical companies dedicated to enabling the textile and leather industries to adopt sustainable, cutting-edge chemistry solutions that safeguard factory workers, local communities, consumers, and the environment.
TfS is a member-driven initiative that aims to raise Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) standards in the chemical industry. TfS members are chemical companies committed to improving sustainability within their own operations and those of their suppliers.
TfS has also launched an extensive program to promote defossilization of chemical value chains, offering standardization tools for effective management of Scope 3 emissions based on primary data. Additionally, TfS has introduced the TfS Guideline to determine Product Carbon Footprint (PCF).
Both TfS and SCTI share a common mission to drive transformative change, and they intend to collaborate on advancing sustainability goals within the industry, leveraging TfS’s Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) program.
