STRAIGHTENING PROTECTION: "SMART HAIR STRAIGHTENER"

Hair straightening was initially used to facilitate combing of excessively curly hair. However, over time, straight hair has become popular worldwide. Chemyunion has invested in technology and innovation to deliver a highly effective solution that reduces the unwanted effects of hair straightening. Tests 1. Confocal Raman Microscope

Studies conducted on albino hair were performed to prove that Seriliss RA protects Cysteine protein in hair strands during straightening. Cysteine is an amino acid that forms the structure of hair strands and plays a crucial role in their resistance. In the absence of this amino acid, hair becomes very weak and prone to breakage. Using the same method, it was also investigated whether Sericin protein penetrates into the hair strand cortex. The Sericin contained in Seriliss RA strengthens hair strands. Hair strands treated with Seriliss RA have 33% higher Cysteine levels compared to hair strands treated with a competing product. Even after 5 straightenings, hair strands treated with Seriliss RA have 8% higher Cysteine levels compared to strands treated with a competing product. These results provide evidence of the protective effect of Seriliss RA during straightening. Additionally, Sericin protein was detected in the hair cortex. Thus, it was understood that Sericin contained in Seriliss RA can penetrate hair strands during straightening. The results demonstrate that Seriliss RA straightening treatment provides greater protection and can strengthen hair strands.

2. Evaluation of Mechanical Properties

This study was based on comparing the resistance of hair strands to breakage before and after a single straightening treatment with Seriliss RA and a competing product. The maximum force that a hair strand can withstand before breaking is directly related to its thickness. To demonstrate that Seriliss RA preserves the mechanical properties of hair during straightening, maximum tensile stress before breaking was measured. Compared to the control product, Seriliss RA increases the cross-sectional area of the hair strand by 11%. This results in obtaining 14% stronger hair strands.

3. Straightening Effect

In this study, the straightening effect of Seriliss RA and a competing product was compared on normal curly hair using a standardized imaging analysis method. RUMBA equipment was used to evaluate the straightness of hair subjected to the following application procedure. RUMBA is a tool that performs in-vivo measurement of hair strand orientation. - Wash hair with a residue-free shampoo. - Towel dry hair to remove excess water. - Apply product evenly to wet hair (1.5 gr product/gr hair). - Leave on hair for 40 minutes. - Dry to 80% using hot air and a comb. - Apply straightener at 200°C, passing through a section 10 times. - After 15 minutes, rinse hair with water and apply hair conditioner. - Dry with hot air. - Evaluate straightening effect after 10 consecutive washes.

Seriliss RA shows better performance compared to the competing product both immediately after treatment and after successive washes. Hair treated with Seriliss RA is 9% straighter than hair treated with the competing product based on measurements immediately after application. After 10 washes, it is 24% straighter.
