The key factors determining the performance of a foam suppressant are how well it disperses in the medium, how well the droplet size matches the target foam size, how well it penetrates the foam, and how slowly it separates from the emulsifiers surrounding it. When these factors are properly adjusted, the foam suppressant works successfully even in small quantities. Anyone who has worked in production has experienced that foam-related problems with certain products cannot be solved simply by increasing the amount of foam suppressant. The reason, as I mentioned earlier, is that the quality of the foam suppressant is more important than its quantity (or solid percentage). To give an example, while you could puncture 20 footballs with a single steel needle, if you wanted to puncture them with a toothpick you would need many toothpicks. Our product BG 0225 was designed with this logic in mind, and thanks to its performance despite its low solids content, it has become a strong alternative for those seeking an economical foam suppressant. As is known, in water-based paint production, mineral oil-based foam suppressants are mostly preferred both for cost advantages and because they create fewer surface defects compared to other types. When 100% solid mineral oil-based products come into contact with water in the paint can, they function as emulsions. One of the main factors determining how effectively the foam suppressant will suppress foam is, as mentioned above, the droplet size of the emulsified foam suppressant. Droplet size is affected not only by factors controllable by the manufacturer in the formulation, such as the nature of the mineral oil used, the emulsifiers employed, and hydrophobic content, but also by factors outside the foam suppressant manufacturer's control, such as the wetting agent preferred by the consumer in the paint can, the binder (due to emulsifiers in its content), thickener, and mixer speed. This situation can sometimes cause the foam suppressant to exhibit a different distribution than the optimum droplet size when it enters the paint can, resulting in lower than expected performance. In addition to the performance it offers at economical prices, BG 0225 also provides a solution to this problem. BG 0225 is a product we manufacture by emulsifying the active mineral oil-based foam suppressant at an optimum droplet size distribution during production. Since the active ingredient is already emulsified—in other words, it is emulsified before entering the paint can rather than in the paint can itself—it is minimally affected by the conditions and chemicals in the paint can. Due to being a stable emulsion, it disperses at the optimum droplet size in the paint can and suppresses foam at its most effective state. Contrary to common opinion regarding pre-emulsified foam suppressants, it absolutely does not phase separate during storage. [caption id="attachment_104837" align="aligncenter"] Image 1. Application and Use

Does not cause surface defects such as crawling. Since it does not phase separate, it requires no mixing.
