Akkim Kimya and Akcoat Named Again in ISO 500 List This Year

Istanbul Chamber of Industry announced Turkey's largest 500 industrial enterprises. Akkim Kimya and its subsidiary Akcoat demonstrated success in making the list again this year, which was prepared based on net sales figures from 2020. The research ranks Turkey's largest companies annually. The "Turkey's 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises (ISO 500)" research, which Istanbul Chamber of Industry launched in 1968 under the name "100 Large Firms" and has been revealing Turkey's largest 500 companies for 40 years, has been completed. Akkim Kimya, a leading producer of chemical substances in Turkey, and Akcoat, which provides chemical coating material solutions to global brands, both made the ISO 500 list this year. The ISO 500 research is significant for its traditional annual ranking of Turkey's largest 500 companies by net sales figures.

Akkim made the list again this year

Akkim Kimya, which reached net sales of TRY 1,103,541,953 last year, ranked 256th on the general list. Founded in Yalova in 1977, the company, together with its subsidiaries, employs over 1,000 workers and contributes strategically to exports and employment with a total production capacity of 800,000 tonnes across 5 different locations. Akkim, which exports to over 70 countries across 6 continents, started 2021 with a new acquisition investment valued at USD 63 million.

Akcoat jumped 67 positions

Akcoat, which joined Akkim in 2015, climbed 67 positions compared to the previous year and secured the 411th position on the list. Akcoat provides chemical coating material solutions to global brands of products such as white goods, ceramics, and home and kitchen appliances; its net sales in 2020 were recorded at TRY 696,704,474. With a history spanning approximately half a century, Akcoat continues its operations in 5 main product groups: ceramics, enamel, non-stick and decorative coatings, glass and pigments. The company, which has held the export championship in its sector for the last 12 years with annual exports of USD 65 million, aims to increase the number of countries where it operates to 195.
