Aydın Named the Aegean Region's Export Leader
Aydın Records Export Growth in Aegean Region
Aegean Exporters Associations (EİB) increased exports in June by 10 percent, from USD 1,547 million to USD 1,702 million. Turkey's overall June exports rose 18 percent, reaching USD 23.4 million.
Aegean exporters increased exports in the first half of 2022 by 21.3 percent, raising them from USD 7.6 billion to USD 9.276 billion, while foreign currency earned for Turkey by Aegean exporters over the past year rose 21.4 percent, from USD 14.774 billion to USD 17.934 billion.
The industrial sector captured the lion's share of EİB exports with USD 957 million, while the agricultural sector achieved USD 612 million in exports. The mining sector generated USD 132 million in foreign currency.
The Aegean Exporters Associations, which comprise 12 exporters associations, saw 10 associations increase exports in June, while 2 associations fell short of their June 2021 performance.
Aegean Region exports reach USD 2.669 billion
Aegean Region exports rose 12 percent in June, from USD 2.384 billion to USD 2.669 billion. İzmir raised its exports from USD 1.125 billion in June 2021 to USD 1.315 billion in June 2022, a 17 percent increase. The chemical sector led İzmir's exports with USD 228 million, while ready-made garments and apparel contributed USD 130 million. Steel exporters from İzmir shipped USD 100 million in exports, automotive suppliers USD 78 million, and the electrical-electronics sector USD 72 million.Aydın leads June export growth
Aydın recorded the highest export growth rate in the Aegean Region in June with a 48 percent increase. Aydın raised exports from USD 65.6 million in June 2021 to USD 96.1 million. The mining sector was Aydın's leading export sector with USD 27.6 million.Advertisement
