Aegean Exporters' Associations Announce July Export Figures

Aegean Exporters Associations achieved USD 1 billion 238 million in exports in July with a 4% increase. With a 26% rise in exports during the January-July period, EİB generated USD 8 billion 884 million for Turkey, reaching USD 14 billion 820 million over the past 12 months with 16% growth momentum. The Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters Association achieved the highest export growth in July with a 54% increase, reaching USD 16 million in exports. The Aegean Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Association, which records the highest monthly export figures among sectors, increased its July exports by 23% to USD 151 million. The Aegean Ready-Made Garments and Confectionery Exporters Association ranked as the second-largest exporting association with USD 140 million. The Aegean Aquatic Products and Animal Products Exporters Association, which achieved the highest exports among agriculture and food associations, completed July with USD 110 million with a 25% increase. The Aegean Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporters Association generated USD 90 million for Turkey in July, while the Aegean Mining Exporters Association contributed USD 79 million. The Aegean Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters Association's July exports advanced to USD 53 million, while the Aegean Tobacco Exporters Association reached USD 49 million. The Aegean Cereals, Legumes, Oilseeds and Products Exporters Association's July exports rose 12% to USD 48 million. The Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters Association's exports reached USD 43 million, while the Aegean Textiles and Raw Materials Exporters Association's exports reached USD 22 million. The Aegean Leather and Leather Products Exporters Association demonstrated export success of USD 16 million with a 41% increase.

USD 744 million in exports from the industrial sector, USD 414 million from the agriculture sector

Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator Chairman of the Aegean Exporters Associations, announced that 5 associations increased their exports in July, while 7 associations fell behind their previous period performance. "In July, our Agriculture Associations' exports reached USD 414 million, while our Industrial Associations' exports advanced 10% to USD 744 million. Our mining sector's exports reached USD 79 million in July. The chemical sector was again the sector with the highest exports from our region in July after a month's interval. Looking at the overall picture, we rank second in total after the iron sector. The sector achieved exports totaling USD 151 million with a 52% increase, and its 12-month exports have exceeded USD 1.5 billion. These figures demonstrate how correct our demand for establishing a Chemical Exporters Association within the Aegean Exporters Associations is."

EİB increased exports to 98 countries and regions in July

Evaluating July by countries, Eskinazi added that EİB succeeded in reaching 172 different export markets and increasing exports to 98 countries and regions. "Our exports to the European Union advanced 11% to USD 606 million, while our exports to other European countries reached USD 91 million with a 9% increase. Thus, Europe's share in our total exports reached 56%. We experienced 3% growth to African countries and 27% growth to Asian and Oceanic countries. We have USD 130 million in exports to Middle Eastern countries, USD 124 million to American countries, USD 67 million to former Eastern Bloc countries, and USD 13 million to Turkish Republics. Particularly among our top export destinations, we saw 5% growth to Germany, 67% to Italy, 2% to the USA, 10% to the United Kingdom, 16% to Russia, 11% to Israel, 17% to Belgium, 47% to Iraq, and 98% to the United Arab Emirates." The export figure for Aegean Region provinces reached USD 2 billion 38 million in July. İzmir, which ranks among Turkey's top exporting provinces, achieved USD 1 billion 104 million in exports in July. Manisa exported USD 350 million, Denizli USD 327 million, Muğla USD 62 million, Balıkesir USD 57 million, Aydın USD 54 million, Kütahya USD 29 million, Afyonkarahisar USD 28 million, and Uşak USD 27 million.
