IİB Exports Reach USD 7.2 Billion

İİB Exports USD 7.2 Billion Istanbul Exporters Associations (İİB) generated approximately USD 7.2 billion in exports during the first eight months of 2022, achieving a 22.3% export increase compared to the same period of the previous year. Exporters sold products to 197 country markets and held a 4.8% share of national exports.

Highest to Iraq

Istanbul exporters achieved their highest exports by value during the first eight months of the year to Iraq at USD 586 million. Poultry, animal products, furniture, paper and forest products were sold most to Iraq. Following Iraq, İİB exported the highest values to the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom and Norway. In exports by İİB, cereals, legumes, oilseeds and furniture, paper and forest products led shipments to the US; furniture, paper and forest products along with hazelnuts and processed hazelnut products to Germany; furniture, paper and forest products along with cereals, legumes, oilseeds and processed products to the United Kingdom; and ships and yachts to Norway stood out. Based on country groups, the region with the highest exports by İİB was Middle Eastern countries at USD 1.53 billion. Exports to Middle Eastern countries increased 42.6% during the first eight months of the year compared to the same period of the previous year. Istanbul exporters achieved approximately USD 958 million in August, representing a 33.6% increase compared to the same month of the previous year. The association achieved its highest exports in August to Iraq, the United States and the United Kingdom.
