Vinyl Institute Releases New PVC Pipe Report The Vinyl Institute released a report that outlines the advantages of utilizing PVC pipes for water infrastructure. With this report, The Vinyl Institute aims to combat misinformation about PVC's impact on the environment and prove that PVC has been rigorously tested to be the safest and best option for water infrastructure around the world. "Other types of pipes can't compare with the performance of PVC for our water infrastructure," commented Ned Monroe, president and CEO of the Vinyl Institute. "PVC has a decades-long history of being the most successful material in delivering clean and safe drinking water, as backed up by research-based evidence." According to the report, PVC pipe outperforms its competitors in many ways, especially when it comes to effectiveness, durability and cost reduction. The report indicates that PVC pipes are built to last up to 100 years and that throughout its full life cycle, PVC uses considerably less energy than other piping materials. The report also states that PVC is the most durable material on the market, which leads to a considerable reduction in costs for replacements or repairs. Source
