Innovative Projects Awarded at the 8th R&D Project Market

The 8th Chemical Substances and Products Research & Development Project Market awards were held under the approval of the Turkish Ministry of Commerce, organized by the Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB) and with the support of TÜBİTAK. The awards were presented at a ceremony held on Saturday, 27 April 2019 at the Foreign Trade Complex. Within the scope of the event, a total of TRY 500,000 in prizes was awarded across 5 categories. İKMİB organized the Research & Development Project Market event, now in its eighth edition this year, with the aim of ensuring sustainable exports in the chemical industry, one of Turkey's locomotive sectors. The "Research & Development Project Market" event, which has been held since 2011 and is the largest innovation event in the chemistry sector, awarded the three most successful projects in 5 categories. This year, the first-place prize was increased from TRY 15,000 to TRY 50,000, the second-place prize from TRY 10,000 to TRY 30,000, and the third-place prize from TRY 5,000 to TRY 20,000. In addition to the competition categories, applications were also accepted this year in the "Success Stories" category, and plaques of appreciation were presented to the three most popular success story owners. The 8th Research & Development Project Market awards ceremony, held at the Foreign Trade Complex under the hosting of İKMİB Board Chairman Adil Pelister, was attended by Research & Development Project Market Executive Board Chairman Necmi Sadıkoğlu, İKMİB Board Members, project applicants, academics, industrialists and students.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, İKMİB Board Chairman Adil Pelister expressed his pleasure and excitement at holding the eighth edition this year of the Chemical Substances and Products Research & Development Project Market, which they have organized since 2011 with the approval of the Ministry of Commerce and the support of TÜBİTAK. Noting that "Research" and "Development" are two indispensable fundamental principles of production and constant improvement, Pelister stated: "Explaining Research & Development with these two fundamental concepts will certainly be insufficient.
