Dunlop's new Dunlop CX Series tennis rackets, developed specifically for 2019, are manufactured with Sonic Core technology. Sonic Core is produced with BASF Infinergy®, providing faster ball response combined with higher rebound. The new tennis rackets manufactured by Dunlop enable players to apply greater spin to the ball. A brand-new technology has been introduced in these tennis rackets. The new Dunlop CX Series tennis rackets, developed by Dunlop and available for players from 2019 onwards, feature Sonic Core technology using BASF's expanded thermoplastic polyurethane product Infinergy®. The Dunlop research team observed that players were increasingly using this technique and, to prevent potential injuries, developed this new innovation using BASF's Infinergy® solution, incorporating Sonic Core technology. Sonic Core was engineered with intuitive design and innovative technology principles to deliver powerful ball dampening, high rebound, speed and light weight performance. Infinergy is the world's first E-TPU (Expanded Thermoplastic Polyurethane) setting standards in ball dampening, rebound and performance. The Sonic Core with Infinergy, positioned in the two o'clock and ten o'clock areas of the racket, creates a high-performance and comfortable material. Material testing conducted by Dunlop found that the primary focus on rebound height showed a 46% increase, while Dunlop's original Sonic Core material demonstrated the ball exiting the racket 2% faster. In addition to superior rebound properties, Infinergy material also features impressive dampening characteristics and reduces vibrations by up to 37% compared to standard carbon fiber rackets. While Sonic Core technology is used in Dunlop's new generation CX racket series, this innovation combines with the superior qualities of Infinergy. The revolutionary material was also used in Dunlop's padel rackets' Power Flex technology. The CX Series was tested and its performance approved by Dunlop's Tour Team players, including Kevin Anderson, who has played multiple Grand Slam finals and will use the rackets in the 2019 season.
