Creavit's "Mezopotamya" washbasin design, developed with inspiration from the ancient civilizations of Anatolia, has been awarded at Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026. The product, which brings together cultural references with contemporary design, functionality and user experience, was evaluated by the international jury for its design quality and original approach.
Creavit, which develops ceramic sanitaryware, bathroom furniture and fittings for bathrooms and wet spaces, has added a new achievement to its international design success. The brand, which reaches consumers in more than 65 countries besides Türkiye, won an award within the scope of Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026 with its Mezopotamya washbasin design.
CULTURAL HERITAGE INTERPRETED WITH CONTEMPORARY DESIGN
The Mezopotamya washbasin carries the thousands-of-years-old cultural heritage of the geography it is named after into contemporary bathroom design. While the form used on the outer surface of the design references the boat form, one of the important symbols of Mesopotamian civilizations, the vortex form in the inner basin interprets the cycle of time and the "Great Flood" narrative with a contemporary design language.
The terracotta, linen, serpentine and lapis lazuli tones used on the product also complement the design's cultural and natural references. The color palette supports the product being positioned not only as a functional bathroom element but also as a visual and cultural expression element in the space.
DESIGN AND FUNCTIONALITY TOGETHER
In Creavit's Mezopotamya design, usage performance is kept at the forefront alongside the aesthetic approach. While the special basin geometry supports controlled water flow, the product's form is designed taking into account ease of use and hygiene requirements.
This approach reveals that in ceramic sanitaryware, design goes beyond being merely a visual element and is handled on the axis of material, form, usage experience and functionality.
Mezopotamya's design concept interprets traditional cultural elements with a contemporary product language while offering a functional structure that responds to daily usage requirements.
FROM TÜRKİYE TO THE GLOBAL DESIGN MARKET
Red Dot Award: Product Design, in which numerous products from different countries are evaluated every year, assesses products through criteria such as design quality, functionality, innovation and user experience by a jury composed of international experts.
The award Creavit received with its Mezopotamya design demonstrates, on an international scale, the brand's design-oriented product development approach and its capacity to combine cultural inspiration with a contemporary production philosophy.
Creavit, which maintains its presence in global markets with products developed in Türkiye and reaching consumers in more than 65 countries, once again makes its work on the axis of design and innovation visible on the international platform with this award.
The Mezopotamya washbasin, while bringing together a design philosophy nourished by Anatolia's cultural heritage with modern bathroom solutions, also contributes to representing the competence of the Turkish industry in design and product development on an international scale.
