The Most Environmentally Friendly Projects at TEKNOFEST 2023

Most Environmentally Conscious Projects at TEKNOFEST 2023 Of the 19,052 teams that applied to the "Environment and Energy Technologies Competition" organized under the leadership of SANKO Holding, a principal partner of TEKNOFEST, the world's largest aviation, space and technology festival, 86 teams are competing in the finals. In the environment-themed competition conducted under SANKO Holding's leadership, the 86 teams that advanced to the finals (374 students) are preparing to present their projects before the jury at the "Environment and Energy Technologies Competition" final, held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport as part of TEKNOFEST 2023. The Environment and Energy Technologies Competition aims to foster awareness in society regarding the use of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency culture, to increase awareness on productivity and environmental issues, and to develop innovative and technological ideas. SANKO Holding continues to support young people who will produce the technologies of the future, serving as a principal partner of TEKNOFEST for the fourth consecutive year this year, which seeks to raise awareness of technology and science across society and to increase Turkey's human resources trained in science and engineering. The competition's objective is to bring to light energy-efficient and environmentally conscious application projects and technologies implemented by industrial enterprises, enabling the sharing of knowledge and experience, and to generally increase energy efficiency in the industrial sector.

SANKO Holding Sustainability Conversations

  At the two-day "SANKO Holding Sustainability Conversations" hosted by SANKO Holding, SANKO Holding Board Chairman Adil Sani Konukoğlu, SANKO executives and specialist speakers will meet with competitors. Within the scope of SANKO Holding Sustainability Conversations, SANKO Energy CEO Hakan Yıldırım will address "A Look at 2030 Through the Renewable Energy Window"; TÜBİTAK MAM Polar Research Institute Director and Climate Ambassador Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy will discuss "Environment and Climate Change"; Independent Curator Ayça Okay and Designer and Founder of the Advanced Transformation Library Pınar Akkurt will cover "Art and Environment: Art, Sustainability, Recycling, Organic Materials, Design and Spatial Experience"; Poligon Construction General Manager Ahmet Sayın and Poligon Construction Solar Power Plant Project Manager Rıdvan Aslaner will present "Green Transformation in Industry and Sustainable Development"; and SANKOnline General Manager Emre Altay will inform competitors on "Entrepreneurship, Start-ups and Investment Ecosystem."

Interest in Environment and Energy Technologies Continues to Grow

  Interest in the Environment and Energy Technologies Competition, organized under SANKO Holding's leadership, continues to increase year over year. While 1,468 teams applied to the TEKNOFEST Environment and Energy Technologies Competition held in Gaziantep in 2020, 2,462 teams applied at TEKNOFEST 2021 held in Istanbul. At TEKNOFEST 2022 held in Trabzon and Samsun, 8,778 applications were received. For TEKNOFEST 2023 Environment and Energy Technologies Competition, organized in "University and Above Level" and "High School Level" categories, 19,052 teams and 55,625 competitors from within and outside the country submitted applications, with 86 teams earning the right to compete in the finals.
