The energy sector convenes at ICCI

ICCI International Energy and Environment Fair and Conference is set to bring together the energy sector on 24-26 April at Istanbul Fairs Centre under this year's theme 'Discover the Future of Energy'. ICCI International Energy and Environment Fair and Conference will host its 28th edition at Istanbul Fairs Centre this year under the theme 'Discover the Future of Energy'. The fair, scheduled for 24-26 April, will for the first time take place simultaneously with Electricity Eurasia – Electrical and Electrical Equipment Fair.

Expected to welcome more than 20,000 visitors

ICCI, which will monitor the pulse of the energy sector through panels featuring more than 330 sessions and 12 keynote speakers, will attract participation from nearly 200 companies. The fair is expected to receive more than 20,000 visitors, with 8,000 from abroad. Since 1994, ICCI has brought innovations and latest technologies from the energy market together with sector stakeholders each year, and this year features numerous innovations as well. Industry professionals from different parts of the world will have the opportunity to observe the latest technologies, products and innovations in the energy sector firsthand at ICCI. Last year, the fair hosted participating companies and visitors representing approximately USD 25 billion in scale, and this year is expected to exceed last year's figures. TG Expo General Manager Cem Şenel made statements regarding the fair.

A global sector meeting point

Şenel noted that ICCI Fair serves as a gateway for global companies to enter the Turkish market and as a door for Turkish energy companies to access international markets, describing ICCI, Turkey's first and only international energy platform, as a global sector meeting point closely followed by the public and investors. Sharing that the country's installed electrical capacity, which barely met national demand in the early 2000s, has grown at an average of 5 percent annually, reaching 50,000 MW in 2010 and exceeding 100,000 MW in 2023, Şenel stated: "The most significant development over the past 10 years has occurred in the renewable energy sector, and the combined installed capacity of hydroelectric, wind, solar, geothermal and biofuel power plants has surpassed thermal power plant capacity as of 2023. Turkey, located in perhaps the hottest geography of the world energy market, is expected to increase regional trade opportunities in the near term in international infrastructure and energy fields, expand the energy industry with new investments and integrate technological transformation into its market. ICCI has contributed to and continues to contribute to the past 25 years of this growth and development process by creating an effective, respected and high-quality communication and event platform. We are delighted to bring together companies that shape energy in Turkey and the world."

Critical steps of energy transition to be shared

Noting that Turkey's position among the world's important energy market centres and all sector innovations will be addressed at ICCI – International Energy and Environment Fair and Conference, ICCI Conference Executive Board and KOJENTÜRK Management Board Chair Yavuz Aydın stated that the conference will once again create a sustainable vision for the future and share critical steps of energy transition with the participation of expert and wise speakers in the energy field. Aydın stated: "At an event that takes the pulse of the sector, while many solutions ranging from solar to wind, nuclear to natural gas, hydrogen to green energy are highlighted each year, this year will for the first time feature examples of offshore wind power plants," noting that "the fair, which brings together all sector stakeholders in electricity and energy, will provide an opportunity to follow trends and discover new business opportunities while also offering opportunities for collaboration with professionals from different regions of the world."

Sustainability at the focus of the event

Last year, ICCI hosted 146 companies from 12 countries and 16,000 visitors from 45 countries in two halls spanning 6,000 square meters. This year, the fair will welcome nearly 200 participating companies and more than 20,000 visitors, with 8,000 from abroad, in a 10,000 square meter space. This year's event, organized under the theme 'Discover the Future of Energy', focuses on sustainability. The conference programme will highlight current developments in topics such as energy efficiency, renewable energy, smart grids, clean technologies and environmental management.

Electricity Eurasia – Electrical and Electrical Equipment Fair to take place simultaneously

Electricity Eurasia – Electrical and Electrical Equipment Fair will take place simultaneously with ICCI this year. The fairs, which will host various conferences and events, will offer an opportunity to examine in detail innovations and the latest trends related to energy generation, distribution and use, including numerous products, generators, energy saving and efficiency devices, lighting systems, power transmission and distribution equipment, solar energy, wind energy, smart grids, electric vehicles and renewable energy technologies.
