Eti Bakır Receives RMI-Approved Producer Certification

Eti Bakır Mazıdağı Metal Geri Kazanım ve Entegre Gübre Tesisleri, gelişen endüstrinin çatı denetim kuruluşu Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) tarafından onaylı üretici belgesi almaya hak kazandı. Ekonomik İşbirliği ve Kalkınma Örgütü (OECD) sorumlu tedarik zinciri rehberi kriterlerine sağladığı uyumla uluslararası bir başarı elde eden Eti Bakır, rekabette önemli kazanım elde etti. Avrupa Yeşil Mutabakatı başta olmak üzere tüm dünya endüstrisi, sürdürülebilirlik ve döngüsel ekonomiye yönelik eylem planı için çalışmalarını sürdürürken, yeni nesil madenler de bu çalışmaların merkezinde yer alıyor. The company has successfully completed all audit processes of the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI), which has been working for members including more than 400 of the world's largest companies such as Mercedes, Apple and GE since 2008, and as of October became the certificate holder. The facility, which holds 2% of the world market with cobalt it produces at 99.99% purity, will continue to supply raw materials to global companies more strongly with the RMI certification.

'We have officially registered our responsible production policy'

Eti Bakır Mazıdağı Metal Geri Kazanım ve Entegre Gübre Tesisi General Manager Emre Kayışoğlu stated, 'With this certificate, it has been documented that we produce cobalt, copper and zinc in accordance with OECD standards. While once again proving our knowledge accumulated in mining technologies and advanced technology on the global stage, we have officially registered the responsible production policy we have put forward.'

Kayışoğlu made the following statements:

'We underwent very detailed audits covering supply chain, production and sales figures, internal and external complaint mechanisms, logistics system, on-site production processes, and even workers' salaries. It has been certified with this certificate that no raw materials come from conflict zones in the supply process of products we produce, no child labor is employed, no work contrary to human rights is conducted, no activities related to terrorism are supported, no corruption is carried out, and that the necessary systems for monitoring all of these exist. With developing technology, cobalt production, which has become a very important element, we became the 45th company in the world to hold an RMI certificate. We are also one of all 7 copper producers worldwide and one of 2 zinc producers that hold this certificate. Since the facility began operations, we are extremely proud to have obtained this certificate thanks to the great efforts of all our colleagues working to improve our processes both on-site and in the office.'   Source
