Export Champions Awards Ceremony Held The Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the umbrella organization of 61 exporter associations covering 27 sectors and more than 100,000 exporters, held the "Export Champions Awards Ceremony and TİM 29th Regular General Assembly" at the Istanbul Haliç Congress Centre with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. At the Export Champions Awards Ceremony, awards were presented to the top 10 companies with the highest exports in 2021 by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The TİM 29th Regular General Assembly also featured the introduction of the "Turkey's Top 1,000 Exporters 2021 Prestige Book" prepared by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM). The results of the conducted research were shared with the public. Accordingly, total exports in 2021 recorded a 32.8% increase compared to the previous year, reaching USD 225 billion 220 million. The 2021 exports of companies in the top 1,000 increased by 33.2% compared to the previous year to USD 123.3 billion, while their share of total exports was 54.7%. In 2021, 827 companies were listed in the top 1,000, while 173 companies entered the top 1,000 for the first time. Domestic companies comprised 80% of the top 1,000. These companies accounted for 63% of the total exports of the top 1,000 firms. 57.7% of the top 1,000 companies were located in the Marmara Region. Istanbul, with 429 companies, had the most companies on the list in 2021. The General Assembly and awards ceremony were attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Trade Minister Mehmet Muş, Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati, Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, representatives of the top 1,000 exporting companies, civil society organizations, associations and relevant stakeholder institution heads, TİM delegates, management and supervisory board members and delegates of exporter associations, and TİM council members. Awards were presented to the top 10 companies with the highest exports in Turkey in 2021 by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The top 10 companies that achieved the highest exports and received awards last year were, respectively: Ford Otomotiv Sanayi, Toyota Otomotiv Sanayi Türkiye, Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri, Kibar Dış Ticaret, Vestel Ticaret, Arçelik, Oyak-Renault Otomobil Fabrikaları, SOCAR Türkiye Petrol, HABAŞ Sınai ve Tıbbı Gazlar İstihsal Endüstrisi, and TGS Dış Ticaret. At the ceremony, awards for the champions with the highest exports in 27 sectors were presented by ministers and TİM President İsmail Gülle.

Top 1,000 exporters' contribution reached USD 123 billion

At the 29th TİM Regular General Assembly, the results of the "Turkey's Top 1,000 Exporters 2021" research were also announced. The research conducted by TİM enables observation of the annual performance of the largest export organizations and the conduct of numerous detailed analyses, providing guidance to exporting companies while presenting the outcomes of efforts made for export development. According to the research, total exports in 2021 recorded a 32.8% increase compared to the previous year, reaching USD 225 billion 220 million. (2020: USD 169 billion 637 million). The total 2021 exports of companies in the top 1,000 increased by 33.2% compared to the previous year to USD 123.3 billion. (2020: USD 92 billion 576 million). These companies' share of total exports was 54.7%, while the number of companies with exports of USD 1 billion and above was 15.

80% of the top 1,000 are domestic companies

According to the research, 827 companies were listed in the top 1,000 in 2021, with 173 companies entering the top 1,000 for the first time this year. Domestic companies comprised 80% of the top 1,000. These companies accounted for 63% of the total exports of the top 1,000. Furthermore, 66.5% of the top 1,000 consisted of manufacturer-exporter companies. 57.7% of the top 1,000 companies were located in the Marmara Region. Companies from 52 provinces were represented on the Top 1,000 Exporter List. The provinces with the most companies on the list in 2021 were: Istanbul (429 companies), Izmir (78 companies), Gaziantep (71 companies), Kocaeli (65 companies), Bursa (52 companies), and Ankara (46 companies).
