Innovative Ideas to Compete in Antalya OSB Antalya Organized Industrial Zone has launched the application process for the Antalya OSB R&D and Innovation Project Market 2022 Event, which aims to increase added value in production, introduce new technologies and methods to industry, strengthen university-industry cooperation, and promote R&D and innovation culture. The event will feature a project competition and exhibition. Participants can apply to the competition with R&D and innovation-based project proposals developed in 3 different categories: 'Agriculture, Chemistry, Environment, Biotechnology, Food' - 'Energy, Machinery, Electrical-Electronics, Construction, Software, Information Technology' and 'Artificial Intelligence, Health and Medical Technologies, Biomaterials, Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics'.

TRY 15,000 Prize Money

With the final application deadline set for Friday, 22 April, each category will be evaluated separately, and prizes will be awarded to the top three in each. First-place winners in each category will receive TRY 15,000, second place TRY 10,000, and third place TRY 7,500. The prize ceremony will be held on Friday, 27 May at the Atatürk Conference Hall in the Administrative Services Building of the Antalya Organized Industrial Zone Management. An exhibition opening one day before the prize ceremony will enable award-winning and selected project proposals to meet investors and the public. Applications for the competition can be submitted online through the Antalya osb project market website. Project proposals submitted to the competition will undergo two-stage evaluation. The Science and Advisory Board, comprising expert academics and industrialists, will evaluate projects according to various criteria and assign scores. The R&D and Innovation Project Market Executive Board will determine the winners. Highlighting that the project market event aims to provide academics, industrialists, researchers, R&D and design center employees, students and professionals with an environment to realize concrete R&D project ideas, Antalya OSB Chairman Ali Bahar stated, "The R&D and Innovation Project Market Event, which we first organized in 2018, resulted in applications and success beyond our targets. Among 211 projects, 165 projects were selected for exhibition. These 162 projects were carefully reviewed by our Science and Advisory Board and 9 projects were deemed worthy of awards. As a result of our Project Market Event, projects received investment and were commercialized, and our event also led to the creation of new collaborations and partnerships," he said.

Chairman Urges Project Owners to Apply

Recalling that the 2020 R&D and Innovation Project Market Event was cancelled due to the pandemic, Bahar said, "We had to cancel our second event, for which we launched the application process in December 2019, due to the Covid-19 pandemic affecting the entire world. If the pandemic had not occurred, 280 projects submitted for our event would have been presented to investors' attention on a platform where they could receive investment or be commercialized. For these 280 projects, nothing is lost except time. If these projects still meet the event participation requirements, we particularly urge them to apply without further delay," he said. Stating that they view the 2022 R&D and Innovation Project Market Event as a very important component of the technological transformation they aim to achieve in Antalya OSB, Chairman Ali Bahar called on all stakeholders in the ecosystem, saying, "We invite all project owners whose work will increase the added value produced in our country to Antalya OSB and our event."
