The chemical industry gathered at Turkchem Eurasia and Interdye & Textile Printing Eurasia trade fairs, which were realized in collaboration with Artkim Fuarcılık, an organization that plays an important role in the growth of Turkey's chemical industry through numerous domestic and international projects.Over 500 Companies from 40 Countries Participated in Turkchem Eurasia
The International Chemical Industry Fair Turkchem Eurasia, which has become a meeting point for domestic and foreign industry professionals under the motto "Everything Related to Chemistry," attracted the participation of over 500 companies from 40 different countries. The fair is expected to welcome over 15,000 visitors. Turkchem Eurasia, in its 9th edition this year and among the world's leading chemical industry events, brought together all stakeholders of the chemical sector in Istanbul alongside the 5th edition of Interdye & Textile Printing Eurasia. Interdye & Textile Printing Eurasia offered participating companies the opportunity to develop textile processing, dyeing and printing solutions in the Eurasian region, bring together industry leaders, strengthen existing relationships and develop new business connections. The fair saw participation from 122 companies from 22 different countries."We Are Moving Forward with the Goal of Making Our Country a Global Brand in the Field of Specialized Trade Fairs"
Artkim Fuarcılık Executive Board Chairman Cengiz Yaman, who delivered the opening speech of the fair, said: "On the path we set out on 20 years ago to serve Turkey's chemical industry, which keeps a finger on the pulse of Turkish industry, we are today moving forward with the goal of making our country a global brand in the field of specialized trade fairs. Through the specialized trade fairs we organize, we contribute to opening international markets for industry stakeholders and to the development of exports. In line with this, our buyer delegation programme will also be in place at Turkchem Eurasia 2022. The buyer delegation programme, which is carried out to increase foreign trade momentum and promote participating companies' export-oriented products to target markets and countries, will offer great potential to participating companies, as it has in previous fairs."Achieved USD 28.1 Billion in Exports
Istanbul Chemical Substance and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB) Chairman Adil Pelister, who noted that the chemical industry is at the forefront in all developed countries and emphasized that the development of the chemical industry is very important for Turkey, stated: "The chemical industry, together with its 16 sub-sectors, is the main sector that feeds 27 different sub-sectors. We see that the chemical industry is among the most important sectors in all developed countries. Our sector grew 37.1 percent in the 10-month period this year and achieved USD 28.1 billion in exports. To continue our success, we especially need to prevent the increase in energy costs. Easy access to financing and provision of cash flow during this period and the creation of a predictable environment will further increase our competitiveness. We expect increased support for our exporters in this direction. Despite everything, we will continue working to reach our target of USD 50 billion in exports by 2030," Pelister said."Today Our Country Is Among the World's Top 5 Textile Countries"
Vehbi Canpolat, Member of Turkey Textile Processing Industrialists Association (TTTSD) and Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO) Board of Management, noted that dyes and chemicals form the main input of the textile industry and said: "Our country today is among the world's top 5 textile countries. If we all fulfill our responsibilities to maintain and increase the position Turkish textiles have achieved in global trade, our country will enter the top 3 in the textile sector." Noting that the Textile Processing Sector, which is Turkey's strongest area with 600 companies, produces the world's most beautiful fabrics, Canpolat stated that Turkey is the best country in processing cotton and viscose groups. Canpolat concluded by saying: "As a sector, we will work together to reach even better places. Textile dyeing is being taught in India and China, we can easily do this in Turkey. This should be our biggest goal."Improving the Investment Environment Is Very Important to Reduce Foreign Dependence
TOBB Chemical Industry Council Chairman Timur Erk said: "There is a large market in the world ahead of the chemical industry that is very open to growth. It is foreseen that a new chemical market that will grow three times will be created in the next thirty years. To capture a share of this market and to remove Turkish chemical industry from its import dependence, improving the investment environment is very important, especially to reduce foreign dependence." Turkish Chemical Industrialists Association Chairman Haluk Erceber, noting that there is an internal market of EUR 63 billion in Turkey and that this size is among notable examples worldwide, stated that according to Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) data, the Turkish chemical sector exported approximately USD 20 billion in the first 10 months, year-end exports would reach USD 25-26 billion but year-end imports would be around USD 52-53 billion. Noting that the largest part of exports to Europe is from chemicals, Erceber said: "The raw material sold by the EU to Turkey is EUR 11.7 billion. The main problem is foreign dependence in the supply chain. Since raw materials are sourced through imports, this is our weak point."Trade Fairs Will Continue to Welcome Visitors Until 26 November
