Novo Nordisk Türkiye Appoints New Diabetes Director

Novo Nordisk, with 100 years of global expertise in healthcare and 30 years of presence in Turkey, has announced a new appointment to improve patient lives.
Ayça Gönç, who brings 27 years of experience in various roles and companies within the pharmaceutical industry, has been appointed as Senior Director of Novo Nordisk Turkey's Diabetes Business Unit.
Novo Nordisk, a Denmark-based global healthcare company operating in a total of 80 countries with 72,000 employees, continues to strengthen its organization in Turkey and make significant appointments. Leadership of Novo Nordisk Turkey's Diabetes Business Unit was handed over to Ayça Gönç as of 14 October 2024, who has delivered pioneering achievements in the sector for many years.
After graduating from the Business Administration Department at Boğaziçi University, Ayça Gönç gained 27 years of experience through various roles and companies in the pharmaceutical industry. She began her career at Eczacıbaşı as Assistant Product Manager, then held Product Manager positions at Roche and Abbott. In 2003, Gönç participated in a short-term global assignment in the United States and worked with the Abbott Global Immunology Marketing Team. Following this experience, she established the Immunology team in 2004. Until 2007, she signed off on successful projects at Abbott and held the position of Immunology Business Unit Manager. She then continued her career at Abbott for 6 years as Immunology Director and executed important launches. Starting in 2013 at AbbVie Turkey, Gönç led the Hepatology Business Unit until 2018, during which time she built the Hepatology team, executed notable launches and contributed to the products' market leadership. In October 2018, Gönç took an important step forward as Deputy Director of Hematology for AbbVie Western Europe and Canada. After being appointed as Oncology Director for the Eastern Europe, Middle East and Russia region in 2022, she was subsequently appointed to the position of Eastern Europe Oncology Commercial and Customer Excellence Director, continuing in this role until March 2023. From March 2023 to September 2024, she served as AbbVie Europe Hematology Commercial Director. During her time working in Europe, she contributed to European launches of hematology products.
