The "Boğaziçi Virtual Innovation Camp," designed to instil innovation awareness among university students and launched with the support of the DuPont Turkey Innovation Centre, has begun. Throughout the camp, which will run until 27 April 2018, all university students in Turkey will compete to present the most creative, innovative and sustainable projects through the Workinlot.com online platform. The "Boğaziçi Virtual Innovation Camp," a first in Turkey, was launched on 23 March through a collaboration between Boğaziçi University Business and Economics Club and the DuPont Turkey Innovation Centre. In the Boğaziçi Virtual Innovation Camp, university students will compete to develop innovative projects on designated topics and create the most innovative and sustainable idea. Students from all universities in Turkey will be able to participate in the competition, which will be conducted entirely online, for a period of one month. Mehmet Demiray, Leader of the DuPont Turkey Innovation Centre, said of the project: "In the Boğaziçi Virtual Innovation Camp, which is Turkey's first virtual innovation camp, young people will learn the importance of innovative thinking and the steps in the innovation process at a time when innovation is inevitable. As DuPont Turkey, we are delighted to support the future entrepreneurs who wish to develop their idea generation capabilities through this project carried out with Boğaziçi Business and Economics Club, and to be working with new ventures such as workinlot.com."

Students Will Reimagine 3 Different DuPont Products

Over the course of a 5-week marathon, competitors will complete 8 main and 18 intermediate stages and work to develop the most creative project by reimagining 3 different DuPont products. The projects to be developed include creating a new, intelligent surface design that simplifies life using DuPont™ Corian® Solid Surface, a massive, non-porous, homogeneous surface material; developing new applications using DuPont™ Intexar™ technology, which makes ordinary fabrics intelligent through flexible film and ink technology; and creating new application areas for DuPont™ Tyvek®, a product made of continuous and high-density polyethylene fibres with barrier, protection and breathability properties, with a wide range of applications from personal protection to roofing facade systems. Competing individually or in two-person teams, projects will be evaluated by a jury consisting of industry representatives and DuPont executives, taking into account criteria such as creativity, consistency, sustainability and clarity. The winners will have the opportunity to visit the DuPont Innovation Centre in Meyrin (Switzerland).
