TİKAV Continues Its Community Support

TİKAV continues support for different segments of society through its "Our Digital Footprint" project, which will provide training to women living in 27 different rural areas across 18 provinces in Turkey where Akfen Renewable Energy company operates power generation facilities. The "Our Digital Footprint" project, which will run throughout 2024, focuses on the beneficial and correct use of digital platforms. The project aims to inform women and families living in rural areas about legal, social, physiological and psychological problems that may arise from unconscious use of digital platforms, and to contribute to the prevention of such problems. Türkiye İnsan Kaynakları Eğitim ve Sağlık Vakfı (TİKAV), which was founded by Akfen Holding and aims to support different segments of society through social responsibility projects, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and launching another new project. TİKAV, which is bringing the "Our Digital Footprint" project to life with financial support from Akfen Renewable Energy, will raise awareness among rural women living around Solar, Wind and Hydroelectric Power Plants located in 18 provinces and 27 different locations across Turkey throughout 2024 regarding the digital world. Seminars to be held at 27 locations operated by Akfen Renewable Energy will show participants how to exist safely in the digital world. The "Our Digital Footprint" project, presented as a social responsibility model suited to the needs of the modern age, aims to create public awareness against the challenges brought by the digital age and to raise awareness among women living in rural areas in this digital era, with the support of TİKAV and Akfen Renewable Energy. Seminars under the Our Digital Footprint Project are planned to cover all regions of Turkey throughout 2024. Training will begin in February in Anamur district of Mersin and continue in March in Acıpayam and Kale districts of Denizli, Karacasu and Bozdoğan districts of Aydın, and Ula and Seydikemer regions of Muğla. In April, training will be held in Geyve district of Sakarya, Üçpınar Village under Lapseki district of Çanakkale, and İntepe neighborhood in Çanakkale city center. The project will meet with women in May in Dereli and Bulancak of Giresun and Kahramanlar Village under Sürmene district of Trabzon. In June, training will be provided in Karatepe neighborhood under Sarayönü district of Konya, Zengen Village in Konya Ereğli, Yahyalı in Kayseri, Gemerek in Sivas, Kusurat Village under Turhal district of Tokat and Kütü Village Boyalı location in Amasya. In September, the project will continue in Kıyıcak Village under Edremit district of Van, Fırıncı Village under Battalgazi district of Malatya, Aziziye in Erzurum and Şahinkaya Village Central District in Elazığ. In October, women in Kaman Village garden areas of Osmaniye will be reached. In the partnership between TİKAV and Akfen Renewable Energy, the "We Became Schooled at Home" project in 2017 reached 800 women in 15 regions regarding the development of 0-6 age group children. In the theme of 2018 determined as health, the "Health First" project provided health training to 1,500 women in 17 regions. In the "Hygiene is Health" project that started in 2019, 2,000 women were reached at 26 different locations. The "Savings in Our Home, Future in Our Hands" project launched after the pandemic provided training to 2,500 women living in areas with Akfen Renewable Energy power plants on adopting savings methods within the family and achieving a lifestyle in harmony with nature in today's world where the impact dimension of environmental and economic problems has increased. Thus, a total of 6,800 women received face-to-face training on various subjects in 4 different social responsibility projects. The number of people indirectly reached through these projects exceeded 20,000.
