Turkish Exporters Assembly Organizes First Trade Delegation of 2022 The Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) organized the first physical trade delegation of 2022 in the United Arab Emirates. Members of the delegation, composed of leading Turkish exporters, are participating in discussions aimed at increasing export figures between Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. TİM continues to bring together buyers through sectoral and general trade delegations. The first trade delegation of 2022 is conducting contacts in the United Arab Emirates on a physical basis. These contacts are expected to increase cooperation and export figures with the United Arab Emirates.

TİM Conducts First Physical Trade Delegation of 2022 in Dubai

The Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the umbrella organization of 100,000 exporters, organized its first physical delegation of 2022 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle emphasized that 105 trade delegations have been held in 73 countries since the beginning of the pandemic period and stated: "We are continuing our efforts at full speed to achieve the export target of USD 250 billion set for 2022. Country trade targets are extremely important in this regard. As Turkish exporters, we will leave no country unvisited and no ground untreaded in the world." TİM Vice Chairman Kutlu Karavelioğlu delivered the opening speech at the Dubai Trade Delegation program. Karavelioğlu said: "As two important actors in the region, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates have recorded significant developments in bilateral relations, particularly in the economy in recent times. The development of relations is highly gratifying for us as the export community." The Turkey-United Arab Emirates Trade Delegation meeting and bilateral talks held in Dubai took place between 50 Turkish companies and over 300 UAE firms. Deputy Minister of Trade Rıza Tuna Turagay, TİM Board of Directors, Union Presidents, UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Secretary General Humaid Mohamed Ben Salem, Dubai Chamber of Commerce President Hamad Buamim, and Dubai Consul General Mustafa İlker Kılıç participated in the opening ceremony. Following the opening, bilateral and roundtable meetings were conducted between the 50 Turkish and 300 UAE companies present in the delegation.

Exports to UAE Increased 94 Percent in 2021

The United Arab Emirates holds a very strong position today through investments made in trade, tourism, education and service sectors. Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, as two important actors in the region, have achieved significant developments in bilateral relations. In November last year, 10 separate agreements were signed between Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. Through these agreements, the two countries have gained access to a valuable platform to develop cooperation in various fields such as energy, petrochemicals, technology, transportation, infrastructure, health, financial services, food and agriculture. In 2021, Turkey's exports to the United Arab Emirates increased by 94 percent to USD 5.5 billion. Through a study conducted by the Turkish Exporters Assembly, 317 products that the United Arab Emirates could import from Turkey were identified. In these 317 products, the UAE has no imports from Turkey. In 45 of the 317 products, Turkey has a serious competitive advantage. In only these 45 products, the United Arab Emirates has imports exceeding USD 400 million. In sectoral terms, the sectors with the highest exports in Turkey's exports to the United Arab Emirates are jewelry leading with USD 1.2 billion, followed by chemical substances with USD 201 million and ready-made clothing with USD 185 million.
