Turkey's Fresh Grape Exports Rise 36 Percent

Turkey's fresh grape exports rose from USD 118 million to USD 160 million, up 36 percent year-on-year during the January-October period. Hayrettin Uçak, Chairman of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association, stated in a written statement that sultani grape production takes place on 1.1 million hectares of vineyard land operated by 60,000 producers in the Manisa-Izmir-Denizli triangle.  

Fresh grapes accounted for 78 percent of grape exports

Noting increased demand for fresh grapes during the pandemic period and that Turkey exported USD 158 million worth of fresh grapes in 2020, Uçak added: "During the 10-month period of 2021, we surpassed the full-year 2020 export figures. Turkey's table grape exports rose by 36 percent from USD 118 million to USD 160 million during the 10-month period of 2021. Sultani grapes alone accounted for 78 percent of fresh grape exports. We are making steady progress toward our USD 200 million export target set for 2021. I sincerely congratulate our producers and exporters who made great efforts in achieving this successful result."
