Uludağ University Provides R&D Support to Automotive Industry

Bursa Uludağ University signs cooperation agreement with Aka Otomotiv San. ve Tic. A.Ş., operating in Orhangazi district, to provide academic support for the company's R&D activities. Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim Kılavuz emphasized that universities represent the collective intelligence of their cities, and stressed that they are moving forward together with all dynamics of Bursa. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim Kılavuz, noting that they focus on conducting scientific and academic studies in line with society's needs, stated: "We are one of Turkey's largest universities by volume. We hope to go down in history as one of the brand universities as well. Our Research University status has been approved. Previously we were in candidate university status. In this regard, we are taking on special responsibility both in meeting human resources needs and in conducting scientific research and development and presenting its outputs in service to society. We strengthen our relations with the business world with each passing day." he said. Sharing information that according to reports from international ranking organizations they rank 716th globally in the field of Industry and Industrial Relations, Rector Kılavuz said, "This excites us. It increases our determination to work. Our industrialists have practical knowledge, we have academic experience. When we bring these two qualified elements together, I believe we will produce beautiful projects for the benefit of our country and nation. Tuğkan Mert, Commercial General Manager Deputy of Aka Otomotiv, said they have been working with important Turkish companies since 1965. Noting that they have approximately 850 employees, Tuğkan Mert stated: "Our work continues. However, we are not at the levels we desire in R&D, documentation, patent filing, publishing or organizing symposiums. It is precisely at this point that we will supplement the shortcomings we experience with the support of our University and its academics. Behind the work we do lies serious knowledge of physics, chemistry and mechanical engineering, particularly fundamental sciences. We need your support at this point.
