International Technical Polyurethane Congress Draws Strong Interest

The International Technical Polyurethane Congress, which brought together leading representatives of the polyurethane sector and was organized under the theme "Polyurethane in Every Aspect of Life," took place on 6-7 November 2024 at Pullman Istanbul Hotel & Convention Center.

The event, organized in cooperation with POLYDER and Chem Media, once again demonstrated the sector's production capacity and ability to comply with international standards.

The Putech Congress, which became a meeting point for the polyurethane sector, hosted noteworthy presentations by expert speakers. On the first day of the congress, ISOPA President Christopher Metz participated with a presentation titled "Polyurethane: Building a Sustainable Future in Every Aspect of Life," while

Prof. Dr. İskender Yılgör from Koç University addressed participants with a presentation titled "From the Perspective of an Academic and Vice General Manager Responsible for R&D: The Power of Effective University-Industry Collaboration," emphasizing the importance of industrial partnerships.

Among the special speakers of the congress, Katie Tofts, Project Manager at IAL Consultants, addressed the topic "Strategic View of the Polyurethane Sector: Global Growth and Trends," while

Senem Gülden, Director of Commercial Market Development and Sustainability at BASF, delivered a presentation titled "Roadmap for Net Zero."

Sector stakeholders came together in sessions organized under different topics such as "Specialty Systems and Chemicals," "Rigid and Flexible Foams," "Sustainability," and "PU Dispersions, Process Technologies and Regulations" to evaluate the latest developments in the sector.

On the second day of the congress, the event continued with intense interest, addressing new developments in the polyurethane industry from raw material supply to machinery and equipment technologies. Experts and academics serving on the Scientific Board delivered comprehensive presentations on important topics that will shape the sector's future, such as innovation, sustainability, digitalization, and artificial intelligence.

Throughout the event, the strengthening of university-industry collaborations was emphasized, while the contribution of research on new technologies to industry was also highlighted.
