Leadership for Change Session Held
The Leadership Summit's "Leadership for Change" session took place, featuring experiences shared by numerous industry leaders, forward-thinking discussions, ideas and solution proposals. Among the panellists was İhsan Karagöz, General Manager of Mondelez International Turkey.
Leadership Concept Addressed from Broader Perspective
The sixth Leadership Summit, which addressed the concept of "leadership" from a broader perspective with successful industry leaders, took place on 17 February 2022. At the "Leadership for Change" panel of the summit, which featured multiple sessions, a discussion on leadership during the pandemic period was held under the moderation of Emine Çubukçu, Chair of Make-A-Wish Turkey Board of Directors, with panellists including İhsan Karagöz, General Manager of Mondelez International Turkey, Selim Giray, General Manager of GSK Pharmaceuticals Turkey, and Emre Turanlı, CEO of Shell & Turcas. İhsan Karagöz, General Manager of Mondelez International Turkey, stated: "The pandemic reinforced the importance of the concept of agility. Among competencies, the ability to be agile has become one of the most critical factors. We should not limit the definition of agility to just our way of doing business. This concept should also be extended to mean adapting to changing circumstances and maintaining the determination to work despite increasingly challenging conditions. As Mondelez International, we sought to quickly adapt to the conditions brought by the times based on this concept. One research mentioned five business sectors that would grow over the next 20 years. One of these sectors was the snacking industry. This research shows us that people's eating habits are being reshaped under changing conditions. Nutrition now appears to be shifting from large meals as in the past to smaller meals throughout the day. This situation forms the foundation for the steps we are taking as a company toward the future. In our company's annually published 'State of Snacking' reports, we observe that despite all pandemic conditions, people's snacking habits have changed significantly. Snacking and nutrition have superseded the habit of regular meal consumption. I believe we will be successful as long as we can keep pace with these trends and remain agile," he said. In the second part of the session, addressing difficult times leadership, Karagöz also emphasized the importance of brand identity and added that with a people-focused approach and working together with employees, the chances of success are always higher.Advertisement
