Erol Kiresepi Represented World Employers at G20 Labour Ministers' Meeting

Erol Kiresepi, Chairman of the Board of Santa Farma İlaç Sanayii, Vice Chairman of the Board of KİPLAS and Honorary President of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), represented world employers at the G20 Labor Ministers Meeting held on 23 June 2021 as part of Italy's G20 Presidency and delivered a speech. Labor Ministers, ministry officials and representatives of international organizations from G20 countries attended the meeting organized in Catania, Italy, to prepare recommendations on employment and growth issues to be presented to the G20 Leaders Summit scheduled for October. [caption id="attachment_126042" align="aligncenter"] Erol Kiresepi[/caption] Speaking in the first session of the meeting, Kiresepi stated that all possible measures should be taken to encourage and accelerate the creation of new employment opportunities in the post-pandemic period, and that it would be beneficial to prioritize supporting entrepreneurs, businesses and workers with strong incentives and removing obstacles facing employers in order to create employment.

The Honorary President of IOE emphasized that it is imperative to provide training and career guidance to enable workers to adapt to a rapidly evolving labor market, stating that all countries can adapt to the 21st century with dynamic, flexible and inclusive labor markets.

Erol Kiresepi noted that if the policies adopted by the G20 are implemented at the national level, we can solve the existing problems, and that they expect measures such as the previously adopted G20 Entrepreneurship Action Plan, G20 Structural Reform Agenda or G20 Skills Strategy to be translated into action in every G20 country. Kiresepi concluded his speech by emphasizing that the IOE, which represents more than 50 million companies in 150 countries, is ready to support the G20 process to achieve successful implementations and effective results in the coming period.
