SOCAR Turkey Achieves Significant Success
SOCAR Turkey has become the world's first organization to receive certification under the TS EN ISO 56002 Innovation Management System Standard, initiated by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE), which promotes innovation in institutions and organizations, evaluates an organization's current innovation performance, ensures business continuity, and creates a common framework to support corporate change programs. SOCAR Turkey is this pioneering organization.
The Turkish Standards Institute, which provides technology and knowledge transfer, market compatibility assurance to manufacturers, and quality assurance to end users through its certification programs, has added a new program to its portfolio. TSE launched Innovation Management System certification under the TS EN ISO 56002 Innovation Management System Standard framework, which promotes innovation in institutions and organizations, evaluates an organization's current innovation performance, ensures business continuity, and creates a common framework to support corporate change programs.
Following inspections, SOCAR Turkey R&D and Innovation Inc. was certified under the TS EN ISO 56002 Innovation Management System Standard framework after meeting the required conditions. Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank presented SOCAR's certificate at the 9th R&D and Design Center and Technology Development Zones Summit and Awards Ceremony held in Izmir. Speaking during the certificate presentation, Minister Varank stated that they view R&D and innovation as keys to development and prosperity.
Noting that their goal is to enable a rapid transition from technology-importing Turkey to Turkey with high-technology infrastructure, Minister Varank stated: "In industry, the company receiving Innovation Management System certification for the first time worldwide and the organization conducting this certification for the first time worldwide are both from Turkey. TSE issued this certificate. SOCAR is the first organization to receive it. We congratulate them for the importance they attach to innovation."
Minister Varank subsequently presented the Innovation Management System Certificate to Bilal Guliyev, General Manager of SOCAR Turkey R&D and Innovation Inc.
"The Management System contributes to increased organizational reputation and brand value"
Addressing the benefits the certification model provides to institutions and organizations applying it, TSE President Mahmut Sami Şahin stated: "The Innovation Management System certification program contributes to increased uncertainty management capability in the institutions and organizations where it is implemented. The program increases growth, revenues, profitability and competitiveness. The program, which we define as continuous improvement, process innovation or organizational innovation, also provides lower costs, increased productivity and resource efficiency; and increases satisfaction among users, customers and stakeholders. The Management System, which advocates developing an innovation culture through concrete measures, contributes to increased organizational reputation and brand value, and also facilitates compliance with regulations and other applicable requirements."Advertisement
