Torque Solutions for the Treatment Sector

SMS TORK began operations in 1985 under the TORK brand in the field of fluid control technologies. It is the first domestic manufacturer in its sector in Turkey of solenoid valves, pneumatic actuators, pneumatic piston valves, burst valves and electric actuators. Today its products are preferred in 87 countries worldwide.

SMS TORK, which carries out manufacturing at its facilities built on 4,000 square meters of enclosed space in Dilovası, produces solutions for its customers with 100% domestic products that it designs and manufactures with the Research and Development team within the company. The SMS TORK team, aiming to create a world brand in the field of fluid control technologies from Turkey, continues its work in this area with great enthusiasm and remains a pioneer of firsts in Turkey. TORK products, preferred by many sectors with their wide product range, continue to provide solutions to the treatment sector as well. With pneumatic actuator-operated and electric actuator-operated butterfly valves, pneumatic and electric actuator-operated PVC ball valves and butterfly valves, pneumatic controlled and manual knife valves and many other products, TORK has been assisting the treatment sector with its solutions for over 30 years. From this product group, pneumatic controlled knife valves, which are especially preferred in lines containing fluids such as sludge due to their performance, can be automatically controlled with linear pneumatic actuators mounted on them. The control systems of pneumatic controlled knife valves can be designed as on-off or proportional.

Pneumatic actuator-operated valves can be controlled proportionally with positioner connection, or on-off without positioner. Butterfly valves controlled with quarter-turn pneumatic actuators are more commonly preferred in small-diameter, up to DN600, concentric butterfly valves.

Double eccentric butterfly valves controlled with gear box, electric actuators and hydraulic actuators are also part of the TORK product group. Besides the product group mentioned above, TORK can offer different solutions by controlling Penstocks for treatment facilities with multi-turn actuators. As TORK, we also serve the treatment sector with turnkey solutions. We conduct these activities through applications such as mechanical assembly, PLC and pneumatic panel design, software support and commissioning. One of our latest projects in this area is a water treatment facility sludge removal system pneumatic actuator valve system project. With our project, manually controlled slide valves existing in the lines were also installed, and our double-acting pneumatic actuator butterfly valves with mechanical limit switch boxes were assembled. In the existing system, electrical wiring and pneumatic hoses were laid in the field by the TORK team. Upon completion of these operations, necessary software operations were performed, existing I/O modules were expanded and all valves were enabled to be opened and closed via SCADA.

Following our revisions, the pneumatic actuator-operated valves we newly installed in the facility can be monitored from the system operator panel we created in the SCADA room and controlled remotely.

Additionally, with our measurement control product group, which is another product group of TORK, we continue to be present in the treatment sector. Electromagnetic, ultrasonic flowmeters, pH-chlorine and similar analysis devices are among the products we offer in this sector. We have also successfully completed our recent İSKİ Ömerli Muradiye Drinking Water Treatment project in this field with our expert team. Within the scope of the İSKİ project, we ensured the supply, installation and commissioning of AFLOWT electromagnetic and ultrasonic flowmeters that we supplied and distributed. In our project, DN50 and DN80 electromagnetic flowmeters were used in caustic and chlorine lines. Additionally, installation and commissioning of the equipment were carried out by our team. As the TORK team, we have successfully completed another project by installing and commissioning our clamp-mounted ultrasonic flowmeters on TORK DN1600, DN800, DN600 lines in the lines coming from the Ömerli dam, which supplies 60% of Istanbul's water.
