Axalta Donates EUR 50,000 for STEM and Environmental Management in the EMEA Region

Axalta, through an employee initiative called Axalta in Motion, donated EUR 50,000 to support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and environmental management in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions. Axalta in Motion, which took place in September 2019, was a competition in which employees in the EMEA region aimed to take as many steps as possible at home and at work within 24 hours. Local events highlighted teamwork and increased step counts. Upon completion of the inaugural annual competition, each of the five Axalta countries in the EMEA region was randomly selected to donate EUR 10,000 and volunteer for an organization nominated by employees.

The countries and organizations are as follows:

• Belgium: Natuurpunt, an independent and volunteer-based association that protects vulnerable and endangered nature in Flanders. • Germany: Nabu NRW, an organization comprised of volunteers conducting full-time nature conservation work in the North Rhine-Westphalia region. • Italy: WWF, an independent international organization dedicated to protecting nature and the environment. • Switzerland: Pro Natura Basel, which supports projects protecting valuable natural landscapes worthy of preservation in Basel and surrounding areas. • United Kingdom: Queen Mary's Grammar School, Walsall, which is part of a multi-academic collaboration called Mercian Trust and supports students in STEM subjects.
