Osmometer Devices | Compliant with 21 CFR Part 11
Osmometer devices use the freezing point depression technique to measure osmolality. Osmolality is the total concentration of solids in an aqueous solution. Osmometers measure the number of solids independent of molecular weight or ionic charge.
The standard freezing curve shown below demonstrates the temperature of a sample during its freezing cycle and the function of the osmometer device at each phase of the cycle.
The main application areas of osmometer devices are as follows;
• Biotechnology and pharmaceutical research and manufacturing, • Clinical, emergency medicine, sports medicine, • Industrial applications, • Food and beverage manufacturing, • Environmental research and monitoring, • Academic research, • Medical research. When osmometer devices are used by a trained operator in clinical applications, they assist in determining appropriate diagnosis and treatment for patients with water and electrolyte level imbalances. Osmometer devices are widely used clinically primarily in serum, plasma, urine, and also in whole blood, feces, saliva, cerebrospinal fluid, intraocular fluid, sweat, gastric juice, synovial fluid and all other body fluids. Pharmaceutical manufacturers and biotechnology researchers also routinely benefit from osmolality testing. To develop pharmaceuticals, they implement parameters such as appropriate consistency in formulation, controlled production monitoring, appropriate shelf life and product stability. Osmometers assist in finding formulation methods to avoid or minimize side effects of certain drugs. In biotechnology, using osmolality helps strengthen cells and protect tissue cultures, thereby minimizing production time loss and production costs. Osmometer devices have become key in testing developing products in R&D. Providing the connection between production and quality control with osmometer devices holds a very important place as part of consistency and product efficacy. Given the reasons why osmometer devices are important across all sectors, particularly the medical sector, their production has accelerated. Advanced Instruments osmometer devices manufactured with latest technology have taken an important step for the sector by bringing models compatible with 21 CFR Part 11 to the market, along with Turkish language support.Advanced Instruments Osmo1™ Single-Sample Micro-Osmometer
