Arkema Expands Bostik's U.S. Business with Acquisition of Edge Adhesives Texas
Bostik plans to acquire Edge Adhesives Texas, which provides complementary offerings in hot-melt adhesives for residential construction and pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, thereby expanding its high-performance adhesive portfolio in the United States. The project aligns with Arkema's bolt-on acquisition strategy to develop greater breadth in adhesives and introduce new products to meet rising demand.
Edge Adhesives Texas, with annual sales of approximately USD 12 million, is a leading developer and manufacturer of innovative adhesive solutions used in residential building applications. Operating a facility in Fort Worth, Texas (USA) and employing approximately 50 staff, the company specializes in custom formulations for rapidly growing, easy-to-install window, door and roofing applications.
The project will enable Bostik to offer its customers a broad range of value-added and sustainable solutions in hot-melt and pressure-sensitive adhesives, while providing strong technological, industrial and commercial synergies.
This rapid acquisition aligns with Bostik's growth strategy in high-value-added adhesives and expands its presence in North America.
The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2021.
