Pioneer Metal Finishing Launches Surface Engineering Academy
Pioneer Metal Finishing, LLC ("Pioneer") announced the launch of the Surface Engineering Academy™ (SEA), an expert-level resource for Surface Engineering and Modification development.
Pioneer CEO Kevin Stevick stated, "We are excited to launch the Surface Engineering Academy as part of our ongoing efforts to help our customers optimize the performance of their products. Given the complexity, breadth, and evolution of surface modification options, our goal is to create a technically focused platform that supports continuous improvement in this critical category. Pioneer is thrilled to support this new and important resource."
The Surface Engineering Academy's focus on surface engineering and modification stems from the objective of advancing the development and application of optimized product surfaces. While not new categories, the use of established technologies such as anodizing, plating, adhesives and coatings continues to undergo significant evolution to meet user needs. When combined with increased adoption of Thin Film Deposition and emerging surface modification technologies, this substantially expands options for addressing tribological, adhesive application and corrosion protection challenges, among others.
Scott Kettler, Pioneer's Chief Operating Officer, commented, "The Surface Engineering Academy was designed at its core by our operations and product development teams. This academy provides an end-to-end platform reaching from technology expert to technology expert to advance technology development, increase operational efficiency, and share insights and industry best practices. The surface modification field offers significant potential for enhancing the performance of mission-critical products. We are excited to be part of these important development efforts."
The Academy's central platform delivers expert-level surface engineering and operational resources in various media formats. Focused on technology development and optimization, the Surface Engineering Academy provides access to webinars, expert panel sessions, technical reviews, how-to guides, technical articles and technology development resources.
