ISO Announces Turkey's Second 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises

Istanbul Chamber of Industry has announced the second 500 largest industrial enterprises of Turkey following its research on the country's 500 largest industrial enterprises. The Second 500 Industrial Enterprises List includes 78 companies from the Aegean Region. According to the ranking based on production and sales figures, Izmir is represented by 40 companies on the ISO Second 500 list, while 13 companies from Manisa and 8 from Denizli made it onto the list.

Roteks climbed 41 positions to claim top spot

Roteks Tekstil İhracat San. ve Tic. A.Ş., based in Izmir, generally ranks sixth on the ISO Second 500 list, but emerged as the leader among enterprises from the Aegean Region. The company advanced 41 positions from its 2018 ranking. The firm has shown itself to be one of the strongest candidates for entry into the ISO Top 500 List next year. DB Tarımsal Enerji San. ve Tic. A.Ş., which climbed 21 positions, became another successful Izmir-based company to claim ninth place. The third company from Izmir on the list is Nemak İzmir Döküm Sanayi A.Ş., which ranks 22nd.

Kula Yağ jumped 83 positions

Kula Yağ ve Emek Yem San. Tic. A.Ş., based in Balıkesir, rose a full 83 positions to claim 17th place and finished first among the 6 Balıkesir-based companies on the list.

Yorglass became Manisa's champion

Among companies from Manisa on the ISO Second 500 list, Yorglass Cam San. ve Tic. A.Ş. ranked first. The company, which held 50th place in 2018, advanced 26 positions in 2019 to reach 24th place. Dardanel Önentaş Gıda Sanayi A.Ş., operating in the aquaculture sector, drew attention by climbing from 130th to 35th position. Söke Değirmencilik became Aydın's champion Aydın is represented by 3 companies on the ISO Second 500 List. Söke Değirmencilik San. ve Tic. A.Ş. rose 52 positions to reach number 60 and finished first among Aydın companies. One of the most successful newcomers on the ISO Second 500 List is Verde Yağ Besin Maddeleri San. ve Tic. A.Ş. The company, which ranked 346th in 2018, advanced 277 positions in 2019 to reach 69th place. Küçüker Tekstil takes top spot from Denizli Eight companies from Denizli made it onto the ISO Second 500 List, with five of these from the textile sector. Küçüker Tekstil San. ve Tic. A.Ş. ranks first among Denizli companies, maintaining its position on the overall list with a 59-position gain from 149th place.

Uşak Seramik leads for Uşak

Three companies from Uşak entered the ISO Second 500 Industrial Enterprises list, with Uşak Seramik Sanayi A.Ş. ranking 143rd.

Afyon Et Entegre represents Afyon, Kros Otomotiv represents Kütahya

Afyon Et Entegre Gıda Tarım Hayvancılık San. ve Tic. A.Ş. was the only company from Afyonkarahisar to make the list, ranking 255th. The only company from Kütahya to rank on the list is Kros Otomotiv San. ve Tic. A.Ş., which holds 436th place. Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator President of the Aegean Exporters Associations, noted that Anatolian companies are asserting their weight on the ISO Second 500 list, with Anatolian firms representing 70 percent based on the revenue and export figures of listed companies. He stated that many of the companies on the list are candidates for entry into the ISO Top 500 List in the coming years. President Eskinazi, stating that they aim to see more companies from the Aegean Region enter the ISO Top 1000 List and Turkey Exporters Assembly Top 1000 Exporters List by focusing on customer satisfaction and marketing methods brought by digitalization, said: "We have 160 companies on the ISO Top 1000 list. In 2018, we had 158 companies on the Turkish Exporters Assembly Top 1000 Exporters List. We are working to swiftly remedy the damage caused by the pandemic on export figures. Following the cancellation of trade fairs due to the pandemic, we launched Shoedex 2020, Turkey's first digital fair in the footwear and leather goods sector. In the food sector, where the Aegean Region is strong, we continue preparations for a digital fair from 12-16 October 2020 to increase our food exports. From 5-9 November 2020, we will organize Turkey's national participation in the China Import Expo. By continuing our research and development, design, and innovation-focused projects, we aim to raise the Aegean Region's export figures above USD 25 billion."
