İSO Announces 'Second 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises' Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO) today released the results of the "İSO Turkey's Second 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises-2020" survey, which covers mainly SME-type establishments, following the "İSO Turkey's 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises-2020" survey announced in May. The 2020 Turkey's Second 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises survey, as every year, yielded significant results regarding the current situation and future of SMEs.   According to the statement made by Istanbul Chamber of Industry, the Second 500's net sales from 2020 production increased by 21.7 percent, rising from TRY 157 billion to TRY 191.1 billion. Within the Second 500 largest industrial enterprises, the chemicals sector accounted for 13.3 percent of production sales. You can click on the link to access the second İSO 500 list.       Background The roots of the Turkey's 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises survey extend back to the 1960s. It was first disclosed to the public in 1968 as the "100 Largest Companies". The scope of the study, which discloses data from the previous year annually, was expanded to 300 enterprises in 1978 and to 500 enterprises in 1981. In 1991, in addition to the "Turkey's 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises" survey, a study on "325 Industrial Enterprises Following the First 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises" was prepared and presented to the public. This supplementary study, which was continued as "250 Industrial Enterprises Following the First 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises" between 1992-1997, was expanded in 1998 to 500. Thus, since 1998, data on Turkey's 1,000 Largest Industrial Enterprises have been disclosed to the public every year. The "Turkey's 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises" surveys serve as a strong mirror held up to the Turkish economy. And to date, they have been the subject of numerous academic theses and research studies.
