According to Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) data, Türkiye's exports stood at 22.3 billion dollars in November. The chemical sector, as the second-highest exporting sector in November, achieved 2.5 billion dollars in exports, taking a 13 percent share of the country's total exports. The sector's eleven-month exports exceeded 28 billion dollars.

Evaluating the chemical sector's November export figures, İstanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters' Association (İKMİB) Chairman of the Board Adil Pelister said, "In November, our chemical sector achieved 2.5 billion dollars in exports, maintaining its position as the 2nd highest exporting sector among all sectors. We took a 13 percent share of our country's total exports. Our exports for the January-November period this year exceeded 28 billion dollars. We are seeing the effects on our exports of the ongoing global demand slowdown, particularly in European Union countries, the fight against inflation, interest rate and exchange rate pressure, as well as a petrochemical facility that has been under maintenance for a long time and has just resumed production. Despite these challenging conditions, we are the second-highest contributing sector to the country's exports both on a monthly and annual basis. Our eleven-month exports, at 28 billion dollars, are running somewhat above last year's level. We continue to work with all our strength and to support our sector in order to close the year positively," he said.

"Plastics and articles thereof" was the most exported product group in November

Among chemicals and chemical products groups in November, plastics and articles thereof exports ranked first in chemical exports with 790 million 247 thousand dollars. Mineral fuels and products ranked second with 599 million 553 thousand dollars in exports, while inorganic chemicals exports ranked third with 222 million 753 thousand dollars. Following 'inorganic chemicals,' the other sectors in the top ten were: 'essential oils, cosmetics and soap,' 'pharmaceutical products,' 'rubber, rubber articles,' 'paints, varnishes, inks and preparations,' 'miscellaneous chemical products,' 'washing preparations,' and 'adhesives, glues, enzymes.'

The Netherlands was the top export destination in November

In November, the country with the highest exports was the Netherlands with 214 million dollars. The top ten countries for exports in November were the Netherlands, Italy, the USA, Russia, Romania, Germany, Iraq, Spain, the United Kingdom and Georgia. Among the top 20 countries in November, the highest increase was in the USA, at 76.56 percent.
