Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board of the Istanbul Exporters Association of Chemicals and Chemical Products (İKMİB), issued a written assessment today regarding the New Economic Program (NEP) announced by Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak.

In his assessment, Pelister stated the following:

"I wish the New Economic Program announced today by our Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak to bring prosperity to our country, our manufacturers and exporters, and our industrialists. We see that the NEP objectives are set around three main themes: new rebalancing, new normal and new economy. Among these themes, ensuring financial stability and improving the investment environment are of great importance. We believe that in particular, priority should be given to new investments in the chemical industry and special financial support should be provided to our chemical sector. Additionally, accelerating digital transformation, expanding e-services, and high-value-added production and sustainable growth based on exports are also noteworthy. Our chemical sector, the second most export-generating sector of Turkey, makes a significant contribution to our country's economy and growth. In a context where the entire world has been negatively affected by the pandemic, rising demand in strategic sectors such as medical products, disinfectants, cologne, and soap has once again demonstrated that our chemical sector has vital importance. As the chemical sector, we continue to work with great dedication to achieve our country's economic targets. As our Minister noted, digital transformation, the competitiveness and sustainability of our exporting companies, and the necessary high-value-added production infrastructure are all important processes. As İKMİB, we always move with this vision and we take pride in being the first association to conduct our activities such as trade missions and award ceremonies digitally. After the pandemic, we will continue to work with all our strength for our country's growth and development in the new normal."
