Turkey's Exports Rise 10.3% in January
Turkey's exports in January increased 10.3% compared to the same month last year, reaching USD 19.369 billion, while imports rose 20.7% to USD 33.606 billion.
Preliminary foreign trade data for January, prepared in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Commerce, has been released.
Accordingly, under the General Trade System (GTS), exports in January increased 10.3% compared to the same month of the previous year to USD 19.369 billion, while imports rose 20.7% to USD 33.606 billion.
The foreign trade deficit in January increased 38.4% compared to the same month last year, rising to USD 14.237 billion. The export-to-import coverage ratio, which stood at 63% in January 2022, declined to 57.6% in the previous month.
Foreign Trade Excluding Energy and Gold
Excluding energy products and non-monetary gold, exports in January increased 8.4% to USD 18.105 billion. In January, imports excluding energy products and non-monetary gold rose 8.1% to USD 19.891 billion. The foreign trade deficit excluding energy products and non-monetary gold reached USD 1.787 billion in January. Foreign trade volume increased 8.2% to USD 37.996 billion.
