Double Density Polyurethane Safety Shoes

Safety is an obligation in demanding working conditions. Foot injuries are prevalent in sectors such as construction, mining, metals, food, logistics, automotive, machinery and chemicals, where the workforce is physically intensive. Selecting the appropriate product based on job requirements minimizes risk. Safety shoes developed using polyurethane technology feature a two-layer structure comprising an outsole and midsole. The outsole provides durability while the midsole delivers comfort to the wearer. The outsole, which resists heat, cold, water, pressure, rust and oil, combined with a breathable midsole structure, enables you to withstand demanding conditions. In addition to Flokser's existing innovations in the slippers and soles sectors, a new polyurethane system designed as safety shoes with the aim of protecting human health is set to make an impact in this field. The new product shown in Figure 1 allows both the outsole and midsole to be produced by changing only the catalyst component in the three-component polyurethane system.

The component properties, reaction conditions and mechanical properties of the new polyurethane system with the aforementioned advantages have been evaluated and the results are presented in Table 1.

Antistatic electrical resistance to minimize damage from electrostatic discharge to the human body through reduced static electricity, and hydrolysis resistance of the outsole for workers in aqueous environments, are the two most critical features required of safety shoes. Table 2 presents test results conducted on our products in accordance with EN ISO 20344, the applicable standard for safety shoes classified as personal protective equipment.
