Winning Projects Announced in 2026 Ytong Architectural Idea Competition
The 22nd edition of Türk Ytong's traditional Architectural Idea Competition has concluded. In the competition, held under the theme "Clock-Setting Station," three projects were awarded equivalent prizes, while two other projects received the Jury Encouragement Award.

Türk Ytong, one of Turkey's long-established building materials brands, announced the results of the 22nd Ytong Architectural Idea Competition held this year. Inspired by Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar's classical work The Institute for the Adjustment of Clocks, the competition, held under the theme "The Time-Setting Station," invited the architecture world to reinterpret the concepts of time, identity and society within the framework of today's changing conditions.
Competition inspired by Tanpınar's work drew significant interest
In the competition organized by Türk Ytong, which has supported contemporary architectural culture for 62 years in Turkey, participants developed original conceptual projects that addressed universal themes prominent in Tanpınar's work from an architectural perspective.
Following jury evaluation, three projects were awarded equal prizes, while two projects that stood out with their original approaches were honored with the Jury Encouragement Award.
Winning teams will participate in architectural tour to Cairo
The teams winning equal prizes will participate in an architectural tour to Cairo organized with jury members as part of the award. Through the program, competitors will have the opportunity to examine Egypt's historical and contemporary architectural heritage on site.
The teams deemed worthy of the Jury Encouragement Award will be presented with signed book sets featuring selected works in architecture.

Prof. Dr. Ece Ceylan Baba, Vice Rector of Yeditepe University and Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, chaired the jury, while jury members included Prof. Dr. Adnan Aksu, Prof. Dr. Celal Abdi Güzer, Architect Derya Tezel and Architect Hakan Demirel.
