"We prioritize projects that support local development"
Akfen Renewable Energy Public Relations and Corporate Sustainability Director Burak Solmaz made the following statements in his assessment of the company's sustainability approach:
"As Akfen Renewable Energy, in the regions where we operate we see it as part of our responsibility not only to generate energy but also to contribute to social and economic development in the geographies where we are located. We prioritize projects that support local production, protect natural life and biological diversity. We find the strengthening of production areas directly related to nature, such as beekeeping, very valuable both in terms of rural development and ecosystem continuity. Through this project implemented in Aşkale, we aim to increase the number of beekeepers and bee colony populations, raise productivity in honey production, and contribute to the regional economy."
