Altana Acquires Office Color Science Co.

Altana has acquired the international business of Office Colour Science Co. Ltd., based in Yokohama, Japan. Within the Altana Group, the operation will be integrated into the BYK department's (BYK-Gardner) instruments business division and marketed as BYK-Gardner V/R Solutions. Office Colour Science's business activities in Japan and focus on key customers in Europe will continue, it was reported. BYK-Gardner CEO Frank Wagner said: "Through this acquisition, we can now offer customers in the paints and coatings, automotive and related industries final-coat paint colour matching and formulation software, and as a result provide truly comprehensive solutions in computer colour matching and instrumentation. I am confident that we will be able to benefit from the combined strengths of both companies and develop more innovative products for our customers in this exciting digitalization field."
