Cooperation Protocol Signed for R&D Activities
Protocol signed between Technology Development and Solutions Center (GEBTEK) established at GEBKİM for R&D activities.
A protocol was signed between the Technology Development and Solutions Center established at GEBKİM, Turkey's first chemical industry specialized organized industrial zone, and Gebze Technical University. According to the protocol signed for R&D, GEBTEK will operate in GTÜ Technopark.
Important Step Taken in University-Industry Cooperation with Signed Protocol
Taking an important step in university-industry cooperation featured in the 11th Development Plan, a cooperation protocol for R&D activities was signed between the Technology Development and Solutions Center at GEBKİM and Gebze Technical University. According to this protocol, GEBTEK will be located in Technopark. With the protocol, GTÜ's academic strength will be combined with GEBKİM's industry experience, and R&D activities will accelerate in the areas of manufacturing chemicals not currently produced in Turkey, solving chemistry sector problems, and innovative chemical technologies. The cooperation protocol agreement was signed at the meeting. The meeting was attended by GEBKİM Board Chair Vefa İbrahim Aracı, GTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. M. Hasan Aslan, GTÜ Technopark General Director Zübeyde Demirkapu, GEBKİM Board Members Şafak Türkay, Cem Yelten, Eralp Erdem, Sebahattin Işık, GEBTEK Strategic Unit PMO Partners Founder Bengü Türk, PMO Partners Training Coordinator Funda Kılıç, and PwC Partner Cem Aracı.Work Will Gain Important Momentum Through Cooperation
The protocol agreement signed with reference to industry-university cooperation included in the 11th Development Plan covering the 2019-2023 period will gain significant momentum through the cooperation of GTÜ, selected by the Higher Education Board for R&D in the chemistry field, and GEBKİM. Among the establishment objectives of GEBKİM Technology Development and Solutions Center are "management of national and international chemistry competency certificates, informing on regulatory changes and current legal requirements, carbon footprint measurement and reporting services, national and international project management services, establishment of international business networks, investment feasibility support for international markets, corporate maturity analyses, digitalization and technology management consulting services, consulting services for transition to corporate infrastructure systems, introduction and pilot applications of entrepreneurship ecosystem players, human resources process consulting services, GEBTEK Academy seminars."Solutions Will Be Provided to Chemistry Sector and Industry for Global Warming, Energy and Environmental Problems
GEBKİM Board Chair Vefa İbrahim Aracı made statements. Aracı, saying "we must build the future starting today," stated: "The R&D cooperation between GEBTEK and GTÜ for manufacturing imported basic chemicals in Turkey holds great importance. Reducing our producers' raw material dependency will benefit in closing Turkey's current account deficit and increasing our producers' competitiveness. The GEBKİM-GTÜ cooperation will also provide solutions to the chemistry sector and industry for global warming, energy and environmental problems.
