ASAŞ Wins First Place in R&D Category at Efficiency Project Awards

ASAŞ, one of Turkey's leading aluminum industry companies, has won the first prize in the Research and Development category at the 2025 Productivity Project Awards organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey with its MARBEL AB Project, a sustainable battery carrier system developed for electric vehicles.

ASAŞ, one of Turkey's major aluminum producers, won the first prize in the Research and Development category with its MARBEL AB Project at the 2025 Productivity Project Awards Competition organized by the Directorate General of Strategic Research and Productivity of the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey.

ASAŞ participated in the competition with three different Research and Development projects. The MARBEL AB Project, which aims to develop sustainable battery carrier systems for electric vehicles, the NEXAL Project, which focuses on high-performance automotive aluminum alloys with low carbon footprint, and the Modular Casting Table Optimization Project, which aims to increase production efficiency and workplace safety, were among the studies evaluated.

The project awarded at the competition, "High Scrap Rate, Modular and Lightweight Aluminum Battery Carrier for Electric Vehicles: Sustainable Design Based on Resource and Energy Efficiency" (MARBEL AB Project), stood out with its structure that optimizes resource use, its contribution to energy efficiency, and its lightweight design approach. The project makes significant contributions to circular economy and sustainable production targets by reprocessing aluminum with high scrap content and transforming it into a value-added product.

The awards were presented to their recipients by Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır at the program held in Ankara as part of the 11th Productivity Project Awards Ceremony.
