BASF Expands Dispersion Production Capacity for Decorative Paints and Construction Industry in Dilovası

BASF has commissioned a new production line at its Dilovası facility dedicated to dispersions for decorative paints and construction materials. This development significantly increases the production capacity of the Dilovası facility while meeting rising demand for dispersions in Turkey, the Middle East and Northwest Africa. It also expands the regional product portfolio to meet local customer needs and drive innovation.

Through the new production line, BASF will supply the decorative paints and construction industry with low-VOC (volatile organic compound) dispersions that improve indoor air quality. The Dilovası facility will also produce dispersions with reduced carbon footprint by implementing mass balance technology. Reflecting BASF's commitment to supporting customers' green transformation, the entire facility operates on electric power.

On Tuesday, 7 October, Bekir Polat, Deputy Head of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Investment and Finance Office, attended the opening ceremony at BASF's Dilovası facility and stated in his remarks: "BASF's new investment in Turkey, where it has been operating for 145 years while celebrating its 160th anniversary globally, is one of the strongest indicators of confidence in our country and a long-term partnership. We view BASF's investment as a contribution to Turkey's growth vision."

Dr. Jörg Niebergall, Senior Vice President of BASF's Europe Dispersions business unit, commented on the commissioning of the new production line: "With our new production line in Dilovası, we are prepared to meet our customers' growing demand for innovative dispersions in Turkey, the Middle East and Northwest Africa. This expansion makes a valuable contribution to our regional production network, strengthening our resilience while reinforcing our capability to supply high-quality dispersions to all our customers. Our ability to offer CO₂-reduced products at our Dilovası facility clearly demonstrates our determination to be our customers' preferred chemistry company in supporting their green transformation."

With its fifty-five-year history, the Dilovası facility strengthens BASF's regional production network through its strategic location close to Istanbul and increases supply capacity in the region. This latest capacity expansion was completed in alignment with BASF's sustainability targets.
