BASF Opens New Global Digital Hub in India

BASF announced that it will establish a new Digital Hub in Hyderabad, India, to expand its global digital services structure. The hub, which is planned to become operational in the first quarter of 2026, will be integrated with the company's existing digital hubs in Europe and Asia Pacific.

The new centre in Hyderabad will strengthen BASF's global digital service capacity alongside digital centres operating in Germany (Ludwigshafen), Spain (Madrid) and Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur).
Standardised and Scalable Digital Services for Global Operations
BASF Digital Centres are positioned as centres of excellence providing standardised, scalable and high-efficiency digital services to the company's global operations. The Hyderabad Digital Centre is intended to stand out for its cost-effective and speed-focused service delivery.
Dr. Dirk Elvermann, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Digital Officer of BASF SE, commented on the new centre:
“Hyderabad offers all the essential characteristics for a state-of-the-art Digital Centre with global reach. Seamless collaboration between the new centre and our existing digital network, coupled with excellent service delivery, rank among our top priorities.”
Streamlining Digital Portfolio and Strategic Focus
BASF aims to simplify its digital portfolio and focus on areas that generate the highest added value. In this context, the Global Digital Services division plans to reduce the number of locations worldwide and digital experts by 2030. The company emphasises that this process will be conducted within a framework of social responsibility and collaborative decision-making mechanisms.
The new digital centre will operate under the name BASF Digital Solutions Private Limited.
Strengthening Presence in India
Dietrich Spandau, Head of Global Digital Services, expressed satisfaction with the rapid implementation of the centre, stating, “Our goal is to create an attractive work environment that reflects BASF's Winning Culture and supports high-performing global teams.”
Alexander Gerding, President of BASF Group Companies India, noted that the Digital Centre in Hyderabad will create an integrated structure with BASF's manufacturing and research and development activities in India, further strengthening the company's long-term presence in the country.
