The Only Company Accepted by CERN Is from Turkey

A Yıldız Technopark company at YTU (Yıldız Technical University) will represent Turkey in the field of agricultural technologies at CERN. This will mark a first, as Turkey is the only country participating in the CERN program in the field of agricultural technologies.

YTÜ Yıldız Teknopark company will represent Turkey in agricultural technologies at CERN. A first has been achieved with a CERN programme where only Turkey operates in the agricultural technologies field globally. 
 
Orbiba Robotics, one of the YTÜ Yıldız Teknopark companies that has achieved many successes in agricultural technologies, became the world's only technology company accepted into the CERN Venture Connect (CVC) programme. The company is preparing to reduce costs for farmers by integrating CERN's Structured Laser Beam technology into agricultural robots.
 
Orbiba Robotics, which offers sustainable and efficient agricultural solutions by developing robotic platforms powered by artificial intelligence and renewable energy, became the first venture in the agricultural technologies field globally accepted to the CERN Venture Connect (CVC) programme and the only startup selected for CERN Venture Connect in Turkey.

The company, which develops its products at YTU Innovation Hub within YTÜ Yıldız Teknopark, will gain access to CERN's advanced technologies and expertise. In particular, Orbiba Robotics will obtain the global license for CERN's Structured Laser Beam (SLB) technology and integrate this technology into agricultural robots, enabling robots to operate with lower energy consumption and higher precision, thereby reducing costs for farmers.
 
Access to CERN's Advanced Technologies and Expertise
 
Expressing that Orbiba Robotics applied to the CERN Venture Connect (CVC) Programme in line with their mission to develop deep technology and innovative solutions, the company's CEO İlker Bektaş stated: "During the application process, we detailed our agricultural technology projects and how we could integrate them with CERN technologies. Following the evaluation process, we earned the right to be part of the programme. We became the first agricultural technology venture to be accepted globally. Thanks to the CVC Programme, we have gained access to CERN's advanced technologies and expertise.

Additionally, we found the opportunity to present our projects at events organized within the programme scope and meet with international investors. Our collaboration with CERN aims to develop innovative solutions in the agricultural technologies field. In particular, we gained the privilege of obtaining the global license for CERN's Structured Laser Beam (SLB) technology and integrating this technology into our agricultural robots. Furthermore, CERN is guiding us through the commercialization process of CERN technologies and providing us access to CERN's investor and technology stakeholder networks," he said.
 
More Efficient Technologies Coming for Farmers
 
Providing information about the SLB technology integration, Bektaş continued: "This technology will increase the precision and effectiveness of our agricultural robots. During this process, we will work together with CERN experts to ensure optimal use of the laser beam in plant recognition, weed detection and other agricultural applications. Additionally, using a simple laser source, we will conduct studies on stopping weed development with low energy consumption.

SLB technology will enable our agricultural robots to operate with lower energy consumption and higher precision, thus reducing costs for farmers while supporting environmental sustainability. The integration of SLB technology will significantly enhance the capabilities of our agricultural robots and enable us to provide farmers with more efficient and sustainable solutions. In the future, we aim to pioneer digital transformation in the agricultural sector and promote sustainable farming practices on a global scale by using such advanced technologies. We also plan to continuously develop our innovation capacity by integrating different CERN technologies into our products."
