Clariant: Soft Color Tones to Dominate 2019 Fashion
Muttenz, 25 December 2017 - Clariant, a global leader in specialty chemicals, has announced the publication of ColorForward® 2019, the 13th edition of its annual color trend forecast guide for the plastics industry.
The year 2019 is expected to be challenging, marked by difficult and distracting factors that may even overshadow consumers' focus on important matters. Consumers will also feel that some things previously predictable and reliable are slipping beyond their control.
Assessing these confusing and troubled conditions, Clariant's trend experts forecast greater recognition and increased awareness of the value of creativity, intuition and craftsmanship—the elements that make us human.
We will particularly see the rise of millennials in Africa and the emergence of a new self-awareness, individuality and confidence style.
Judith van Vliet, ColorWorks® Designer and leader of the ColorForward team, recalls: "When we were working on ColorForward 2016 in 2014, we began to observe that consumers were increasingly turning inward and becoming more anxious about what was happening in the world," and adds:
"This troubled state continues to be reflected in colors that have become softer, darker and even more ambiguous.
While the 2019 palette continues to lean toward light tones and remains somewhat muted, we see a growing determination to find ways to live happily in our increasingly technical world."
