Since the Covid-19 pandemic began in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, a number of necessary changes and transformations have started to occur in our daily lives, industry and commercial activities. The words hygiene, sterilization, social distancing and isolation have become more frequently used in our conversations. From our living spaces to working environments, shopping points, transportation and most importantly health services, our concerns about fighting this virus have increased at every point. Many objects we come into contact with in our lives often begin at the surface, and we are not always aware of this. For this reason, surface engineering, whether through surface cleaning methods and chemicals or through functional surface coating technologies and surface treatments, has prioritized comprehensive R&D efforts to develop solutions, to facilitate easy removal of viruses from surfaces, to reduce their adhesion to surfaces and to minimize their lifespan on surfaces. In our country, this subject has been a priority for many enterprises providing services within various surface treatment processes. The All Surface Treatments Association - TÜYİDER Board of Management and Scientific Board have organized a Zoom Webinar (Meeting Join: 997-0461-6721 / password: 48 82 51) titled "COVID-19 AND SURFACE SOLUTIONS IN INDUSTRY" on 6 May 2020 at 21:00 in order to address this subject and share it with stakeholders. This webinar meeting will be held with the contributions of TÜYİDER OFFICIAL SCIENTIFIC BOARD MEMBERS: Prof. Dr. VOLKAN GÜNAY, Head of Department of Materials Science and Nanotechnology Engineering at Yeditepe University and Dr. EKREM ALTUNCU, Director of the Materials and Production Technologies Application and Research Center (SUMAR) at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences. TÜYİDER invites the entire sector to this webinar event. In the increase in human lifespan presented as a success of the twentieth century, "Engineering Sciences" has been the greatest partner alongside medicine.
