DuPont Opens Applications for Safety and Sustainability Awards

Applications are now being accepted for the Safety and Sustainability Awards, organized for the 13th time this year by DuPont Sustainable Solutions. The competition, which draws participation from around the world, was won in 2013 by Adana Çimento from Turkey. DuPont Sustainable Solutions business unit is accepting applications from around the world for the Safety and Sustainability Awards, which has become an annual tradition and is being held for the 13th time this year. The DuPont Safety and Sustainability Awards competition accepts applications from all companies and institutions that can demonstrate significant achievements in one of three categories: safety, sustainability, or operational excellence. Regional winners in each category will be announced in early summer. The global winner will be announced at an awards ceremony held in September during the XXI. World Occupational Health and Safety Conference to be held in Singapore. The awards will be evaluated based on specific criteria including management commitment, culture evolution, performance improvement, innovation, and stakeholder engagement. All winners will receive awards and certificates during the ceremony. Applications will be evaluated by leading experts in occupational health and safety, environment, and operations management. The application form, which must be completed by 23 April 2017, is available at http://www.dssa.dupont.com. All applications must be submitted by 31 May 2017, including a project summary.

Environmental Protection Objective

The competition, which began in 2002 and receives an increasing number of applications each year, attracted participants with a 150 percent increase in 2015 compared to 2013. The competition has seen participation from different parts of the world and different sectors, and Adana Çimento from Turkey won in 2013.
